Karen Furstenberg Joins Dixon Hughes as Member


Charlotte, NC, December 8, 2009 – Dixon Hughes PLLC is pleased to welcome Karen Furstenberg as a member in the Charlotte, NC., office. As part of the firm’s Risk Advisory Services group, Furstenberg will be responsible for growing and delivering risk advisory services, such as process improvement, internal audit and compliance-related services. Her focus will be larger public and private clients in all industries in the market area.

Furstenberg has more than 20 years of progressive financial and advisory experience, including executive level ethics, compliance and audit roles in highly regulated and dynamic environments. A Certified Internal Auditor, Furstenberg most recently was a partner with a Big Four firm in Charlotte, where she was partner-in-charge of their Carolinas’ risk advisory services practice. Furstenberg also served as a managing director at Protiviti, a global business consulting firm that delivers risk, advisory and transaction services.

Furstenberg is active in the Charlotte community and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the YWCA of Charlotte.
